I called her on a Sunday evening and asked for help, based on the recommendations of a friend. She listened, asked questions and even wrote down the names of properties I had seen advertised. Christine met with me Monday Afternoon. She had a number of properties in my price range and preferred location of town. They were available to view on her computer. The list was decreased because of the information she had obtained. We visited those remaining on the list Tuesday Morning. Christine had good insights into problems that would have to be dealt with if you bought many of the properties. I cut the list rapidly to three homes. On Wednesday we revisited the three homes. I still had the impression that they were all excellent homes, but one stood out in it's personal appeal to me. I decided to place an offer. This was a shock to Christine. She had to reschedule her day so she could submit the proper paperwork to the owner's real estate agent. She did this well and efficiently. The offer was accepted. Then came the endless inspections and survey. Christine suggested that I ask the owners if they would take care of the repairs that turned up. The owners agreed. One problems was some cracks in the stucco on a small part of the house. Christine arranged for me to talk to the inspector by calling him first and then providing his phone number for me. This phone call resulted in my request for an advanced technology inspection, at my expense, to insure that no dampness was behind the cracked stucco. When this inspection was completed and no dampness found, Christine arranged for a contractor who is also an engineer to repair the stucco and repaint and reseal. I could not be more pleased with the result. This was actually completed nearly a month after closing on the house due to weather delays. Christine DeLand had continued to follow up. In summary, I can recommend Christine DeLand, without reservation, as a wonderful Real Estate Agent. She was always cheerful, helpful, and reminded me to do things I forgot, like getting home insurance. She has great knowledge, but on a few occasions was quick to say “I'm not sure.” She then told me who to call and gave me the phone number. This instills great confidence in what she says.
